Glossary

Every Sjocamp-specific term, defined in one place.

Blast — A one-shot email send to a segment or to all leads in a campaign. Strict lifecycle: draft → scheduled → sending → sent. →

Campaign — A single signup form / waitlist. Has its own form fields, embed snippets, leads, email settings, and referral program. You can run many campaigns in parallel. →

Custom field — A form field beyond the default email — text, select, phone, etc. Stored on every lead record, exportable, usable in segment filters and email personalization. →

Disposable email — A temporary throwaway address (10minutemail, mailinator, etc.). Sjocamp blocks signups from ~290 known disposable domains automatically. →

Embed — The widget you paste onto your site to render a campaign’s signup form. Three variants: script-tag, iframe, hosted page. →

Lead — A single signup. Has email, position, status (verified or pending), source, custom fields. →

Position — A lead’s number in line. Visible to the lead on their post-signup page. Can be moved up by referrals if configured. →

Referral code — Unique short code issued to every lead — appended to a referral link as ?ref=CODE. Tracks who referred a new signup. →

Reward — A configurable referral milestone (e.g., “5 referrals = early access”). Leads claim rewards from their post-signup page. →

Segment — A saved filter over your leads — re-evaluated dynamically every time it’s used. Used to target email blasts and slice analytics. →

Source — Where a lead came from: direct, referral, or a UTM source. Captured automatically and stored on the lead record. →

Suppression list — Leads who clicked unsubscribe in a blast. Excluded from all future sends. Not deleted — kept so they don’t get re-added. →

Template — A reusable email design built in the visual editor. Used for blasts, and (optionally) for the verification or welcome email. →

Velocity detection — Anti-spam system that flags or blocks IPs submitting many signups in a short window (10-minute rolling window, thresholds at 3, 6, 10 signups). →

Verified / Pending — A lead’s email-verification status. Pending becomes Verified when the lead clicks the verification link in their email. →

Webhook — Real-time HTTP POST to your server when something happens in Sjocamp (new lead, verification, referral). HMAC-signed. →

Welcome email — Automatic email sent to a new lead after they verify (or after signup if verification is off). Distinct from the verification email. →
